i am mexican american, i find it interesting that this has been happening between Mexico/US for about 50 yrs or so & i find it amusing that now there r too many Mexicans here. how about Asians, polish, venezuela, afircan, etc.... i also find it interesting that this has become a bigger issue more than the IRAQ war or GAS prices, i think politicians r sinical & that they hav targeted Mexican illegals as bait to keep Americans consumed until election time. these ppl didn't jump teh border overnight, some were invited some weren't either way our borders haven't & aren't protected the way other countries are. i ask myself why? cheap labor of course, low prices, yes, lack of patriotism by Americans-H*ll NO. if our gvmt. wanted to secure the borders or stop the mass #'s of illegals coming in i think they would have about some 20-50-75 yrs ago. i will just wait until amnesty happens, not for all i'm sure but most will stay and what will Americans do?focus on something else!

No, it doesn't make me mad. I know hundreds of Mexican-Americans and at some point in their history someone probably crossed the border illegally - whether it happened 1 generation ago like me or 5 generations ago. The folks who do this actively today are simply trying to do what our prior generations did. I'm more disturbed by Mexican-Americans who feel that because they've been here long enough they have no connection with those who have only been here a short time and who are truly struggling. My mother and father basically had me in this country, and that gives me special entitlement. But heck to be quite honest that's BS because I know some people who work here for years and it takes lots of money and time to finally become legalized and it's a true struggle. I'm lucky, but I don't take it for granted. So many critics of immigrants act as if they have red/white/blue in the blood.

Absolutely not. This is just another story that some anti-illegal immigrant people are trying to create but reality is that there is no such thing. I live in a town where the majority are hipanics and are here legally. We ask for amnesty for a hard worker to be here legally. I dont blame this people trying to get here the way they do because trying to get to the us is almost next to impossible doing it the way its supposed to be legally. THat is one of the biggest topics in congress in passing resolution HR 4437 to make it easier for hard working, immigrants that are here to work period. Not criminals etc. Now this is one land under god that these people are trying to habitat to better their lives. Ill be honest with you, Mexicans are getting a bad rap because of a certain group of people are trying to make that happen. I as a legal immigrant, with a full academic education know that the people that complain the most about this issue is the low class american culture, which goes hand in hand with ignorance.

My parents migrated here legally many many moons ago. I do feel for the plight of the Mexican people, but I do not feel it is America's responsibility to bail every country out of its own mess. Mexico's citizens are poor and starving, yet Mexico i full of wealth. It sucks, yes. But America is not at fault and not responsible. I feel for them the way i feel for the poor starving Africans. We, as private citizens may choose to help them (by adopting one or helping financially), but we, as a country, have no responsibility to do so.

I lived in Mexico for two years, and it depresses me even now about how bad Mexicans had it over there. I wish it could be easier for the ones that really do want to come and work and be productive citizens could stay here.

No, I don't fault illegals, they are really victims, victims of their own corrupt govt. and victims of our govt who exploits them for cheap labor....
I don't begrudge people coming over here and just seeking a better life....I don't support illegals who come here and get on welfare and commit violent crimes, those need to go back or too jail....
My parents came here legally and have worked very hard to achieve the American dream....They are Americans first, as am i, but I also completely sympathize with the plight of the illegal....So no, I am not upset with illegals, I understand where they come from and what they have endured to come here...

Most legal Hispanics do not want illegal aliens in the USA, even if the illegal aliens are Hispanic, it hurts the good image they(the legal Hispanics) have worked hard to achieve.
