My frient told me that I should stop drinking diet soda and diet products because it has aspertame (I hope I spelled it right) in it and it was proven that it causes brain tumors and anal discharge. Is this true? I've never hurd of this and haven't had any strange headaches or discharge from my anus...well not yet at least.

Aspartame causes diarrhea in some people. Maybe that's the discharge she's referring to? About the brain tumor thing, all fake sugar products have that risk. Back in the 80's it was sweet n low. Diet Tab and Fresca. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you don't drink it in place of water.

its very scientific based on what? just because someone says they heard it was true, read it somewhere, or saw it on tv dosen't make it so. brain tumors are a form of cancer, and cancer is caused by a mutation of whatever type of cellular DNA. the mutation is caused by carcinogens, which are almost aways completely unnatural in the body (different types of radiation and many toxins cause most types of cancer). the songs of love birds are just sound waves, which are nothing more than a physical manipulation of the matter surrounding your body. unless you find yourself in a vacuum, your body is ALWAYS exposed to sound. even if you think it is completely quiet around, sound waves are still interacting with your body. they are just too [high frequency / low frequency / quiet] for you to hear. so no, it is unlikely that lovebirds' songs cause brain tumors. you're more likely to get a brain tumor from the gases emitted from their waste products.

Your friend is right. As far as I'm concerned, any fake ingredient (unnatural) can be carcinogenic (cancer-causing). Also highly suspicious on my list is the ever popular Splenda.

Eat as naturally as you can and in moderate amounts and you will be better off. As for soda, try to cut it out of your diet altogether. It has no nutritional value and it weakens your bones!
