The disgusting poster above me is a perfect example of why there are racists against them. You ask a legitimate question and you get crap like that. I wonder, even if we had anyone with half a backbone for a President, if we could ever get it under control. That's a darn good question....
You know something, if we had people who would actually make an effort instead of talking about it and looking stupid like Bush does, I think we could get it under control. It may take a while but we could if there was a genuine effort put forth.

How would they surprise us? Have you ever heard of spy satellites and drones with cameras? We'd see a buildup of forces long before they could do anything. And since the border is watched specifically to see illegals trying to get in, as well as to counter drug-smuggling operations/terrorist infiltration, how exactly would the Mexicans surprise us? As far as citizens pushing back an invasion? Well, that's probably not gonna happen. You'll see pockets of resistance, but even a third rate military like Mexico's (which actually has a lot of US military hardware), wouldn't have trouble subduing civilians. What is a guy with an AR-15 going to do against an armored personnel carrier? Nothing. His AR-15 would crap itself. His only bet is if the driver of that APC drives it into a ditch and flips itself over.

It can be controlled, it is not about race, it is about the law and the future of the USA. The reason Congress drags its feet is $$$$$$$$$, the same goes for Bush.
Presently, it is the people of Mexico that are the major perpetrators, breaking our laws and avoiding taxes, sending our money out of the USA.
They are also deserting their own people and their country, leaving behind the corrupt government to oppress those who stay. If they cared for themselves and their country, they would stay in Mexico and fight for a change.
Write your political critters, they need to be told what to do NOW, address the invasion before elections.... if it isn't done now, and the same old jack a$$es are sent back to Washington DC, it will only get worse. Thousands are entering the USA illegally every week, and you may not have seen anything yet.
A realistic estimate of the # of illegal aliens that have INVADED the USA in a criminal fashion is right around 30 million, give or take a couple. Higher is probably closer to the truth. They are STEALING from the USA and its citizens. It is time to take action, the illegal aliens are as bad a threat as the Islamo-facists.

Oh, you lying, racist, whining gringo bastards. YOU stole it all from the Mexicans and Indians to start with, remember? What bloody short memories thieves and criminals have. (Or is it simply the fact that your people are the world's LARGEST abusers of illicit DRUGS?)
You should be grateful with all that supply of good indigenous Mexican blood in your country now, you can now actually become REAL Americans, you know like instead of just genocidal, immigrant invaders.....

No. It may not seem like it but from what I hear it is decreasing in some ways. They are making people hate them and doing no good for their "cause" so it is just going to take a while to get them out and keep them out.

Actually, check the dictionary -- it's not an "invasion." The definition of "invasion" is an instance of invading a country or region with an armed force. Are we invading Iraq? Yes -- because our Army just so happens to carry nice big guns. Mexicans, however, are not invading the USA.
The vast majority is from Mexico because: 1) they're spitting distance from American soil; and 2) our borders are relatively easy to breach. The situation is grim in Mexico right now, so I honestly do not blame illegal immigrants for wanting to hop the border on over into America.
But the truth is, the numbers of illegal immigrants are staggering and it does seem as if there is nothing that will be done about it in the immediate future. Meanwhile, that's fine by me.
My best friend and her family are illegal immigrants from a country other than Mexico. They are good, wholesome, law-abiding citizens. They are educated, respectable, and eager to become a legal part of the United States.
The problem is: the subject of illegal immigration does not have a black or white answer. There's sooo much gray area that has to be considered. There's no way to completely shut down our borders (we ain't got that kind of money) and kick all of the illegals out. First of all, we do not have the manpower to hunt them all down and ship them back to their homeland. Plus, that's not a very practical or humane solution.
There's also no way we can completely open up our borders and let gobs of people flood into our land. Overpopulation would quickly ensue. So truth be told: there is no real answer.
In my opinion, though, this is America -- land o' the free! None of us (and yes, I mean NONE OF US) have any real right to be here. For those of us who were born here, well, we just got lucky. But there's no such thing as a pure-bred "American". We're all immigrants in some form or fashion. So how can we assume the right to say who can and cannot come into this country?
My solution: deal with it. We've dealt with it so far. Plus, why not come up with a mathematical number that could represent the amount of immigrants we should allow into the USA each year (not even a clue how much that would be). As immigrants apply for legal status, the roster would fill up.
Rewinding for a moment: as for our "tax money paying for these illegals". Well, we're not exactly doing that. If anything, they are saving small business owners (and medium-large, I guess) a ton of money by working so cheap. Some say that's unfair to the illegal immigrants as well as the national economy -- but you know what? Until lazy, unemployed Americans start working the same labor for the same wages, we're just screwing ourselves. And the fact that an illegal immigrant father of 3 works as a farmhand a bazillion hours a week for ridiculously low pay is truly proof of how much he cares for his family, and how much he is willing to sacrifice in order to put food on the table. That says a lot more about illegal immigrants than most Americans (can you say, Food Stamps? Welfare Checks?)
Meanwhile, everybody just relax. Bask in the glow of your legal status and chill out. You don't have to worry about dodging the INS. You've got your high-speed internet, public education, government-mandated minimum wage, and your income tax return. Whine all you want, but they're really not hurting anybody.
No human being is illegal.

I'm back. Mainly because the creator of this question pasted some response on a totally different thread I had posted an answer on. Also, because "yars232c" posted an answer to this question partially directed at me. So here goes.
"de rak", there is nothing to hide, my friend. There is also no need for me to post my messenger screen name on my profile. That'd be silly of me. Your OPINION is that it's the fault of the US Government. I do agree. It's our country's fault for not being more strict on border patrol in the first place. So I don't know why you even said that to me. So now I'll just move on to the next person.
"yars232c", opinions are neither right nor wrong, my friend. I'm not much for lecturing on history lessons, but come on -- we all know that "Americans" were not here first. Indians/Native Americans WERE. We took it from them. We INVADED their land (we're the ones who have been doing the invading, "de rak") and took it by force. We (as in, you, me, us, citizens) do not actually belong here. The majority of us belong somewhere in Europe.
Okay, I'll let go of the history lesson. Let me, instead, analyze one of your sentences. "Your d*mn right CITIZENS have a right to be here!" The term "right" is misused. In fact, we have the "privilege" of living here. So far, during our lifetime, no other group of people have marched into our land to shoo us all away. So often do Americans preach about their "right" to this and that -- more so, it is the privilege. I'm very happy to be in America; despite all of its wrongs and horrors, it's a pretty darn sweet country. And if more people want to partake in its bountiful pleasures, then why not share the wealth? But before you bark back with a comment on that, let me explain. Just as I said above in my original post, I understand that their MUST be moderation of how many come into this country.
And that's all I'm saying on this thread.

I don't really blame the immigrants...It really seems quite easy for them to get in the US under false ID....and work without tax...
I would like to see the US still welcome immigrants but have total control on the inflow....be able to ID every one of them at the start of their journey into the US....Oh wait it is called Social Security....yes....we need to sic Social Security on the immigrant border.....
