I haven't the slightest idea of what a "good" Catholic looks like or does.
However Catholics are meant to be a loving community modeled after the Holy Trinity.
This Body of Christ comes together for teaching, worship and thanksgiving (Eucharist).
We are nourished spiritually and we contribute to the health and holiness of both the local and worldwide Church.
Except for a few hermits as exceptions, Catholicism is not really meant to be practiced in a vacuum.
With love and prayers in Christ.

You would be a much better and happier person if you gave religion away altogether. The Bible is really just a fake story, perhaps a bit like the Loch Ness monster tales.
When we pass on information to another (example: story, joke, description of something etc) by the time these details are passed on by word of mouth, interpreted by others, and then written down, the final details are typically quite different than the original information.
Since the Bible is just a man-made story passed down over many years in various forms, the chance of it being accurate in any shape or form is remote.
There are people who swear blind that the Loch Ness monster exists regardless of all the evidence to the contrary, but a fence post bobbing up and down in the Loch does the trick. Similarly there are people who swear blind that God exists and the Bible is fact, yet there isn’t one blind bit of evidence to support such theories.
Biblical tales are really no different than Loch Ness monster tales, just the era is different. If you don't want to go to church don't go, it will probably make you a better person.

Yes, you could still be a good catholic if you have GOD in your heart. GOD is everywhere. So long as you practice the good catholic faith, you are a good one. Of course going to church and get to know other catholics would be great.

We do have a grave obligation to attend Sunday Mass. It’s been Church law since, well, long before any of us were around. The reason is simple: We are creatures, and our first duty is to worship our Creator. More than that, we are social creatures, so it is right that we should worship together, and that worship is done best at Mass, which is the highest prayer of the Church. Since the Church has authority from her Founder, we ought to obey whatever strictures are imposed for our spiritual good, such as the requirement to be at Mass on the Lord’s Day.

In biblical point of view, Catholic priest by its reality does not realy care whether you go to catholic church or not, after all they will still call you a catholic. Priest care much on your offerings or donations for their living.
If you want Biblical answer, then its much better you will not go back to catholic church. Better stay home, read your Bible, pray direct to God, by this you keep yourself away from idolatry.

Catholics understand that going to Mass on Sunday is a lot like showing up for a date in court.
At Mass, Jesus Christ becomes present for us and acts as our divine advocate with God the Father, obtaining grace and forgiveness of our sins, purely by his own merit.
If we fail to show up for Sunday Mass, we disrespect the work of Christ's church, as well as Jesus himself, and we risk eternal judgment, by default.
You figure it out.

well, many churches teach that you need to attend church (at least occasionally) to be a good christian. With this I disagree, but I believe you must spend time in religious reflection regularly. Also personal study time with your religion's books/documents shoudl be done also.

Jennifer,
I think that you have it right. Catholicism teaches you that you have to be religious.
I being a Protestant, must refer to the Bible and say that it is not necessary to go to church to have a relationship with God and be saved.

Nope. If you deliberately skip mass, you are not keeping the Sabbath Holy.
