Depends where you go. There are some places that midwives offer free or cheaper services in community health centers and then there are those who work in a clinics and hospitals only and charge whatever their employers specofied rate is.

too much dont trust the birth of youre child to a midwife.take it from someone who has been down that road aa sad sad story

depends where u live really here in new england its more. as the cost of living is high an average of single income is 40-50k so it depends..

check around your area and they should be able to give you some ideas and whe is cheapest and most experienced
