Nikki, what the hell makes you think being gay is a choice? It is not, and I say that as a gay person! Obviously you're straight, and probably Christian. Yeah, you must be Christian to be so damn ignorant. Just to make this clear to everyone, and in capital letters so that all the dumb Christians who think being gay is a choice have chance to perhaps understand it: HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A CHOICE. Ask any gay/lesbian person and they'll tell you the same. Given the choice I think I'd choose to be straight to avoid this crap. Think about it, did you choose to be straight? Did it just suddenly occur in your head one day, "Do I want to be straight or gay?" I know that everyone would choose straight if that was the case.
There are two answers to your question. The first, which I favour, is that God does not exist, or at least Yahweh does not. The second, not so rational answer, is that God loves gay people. The reason it's not a rational answer is because there's not a shred of empirical evidence that God exists.
'God does not love gay people' is a logical impossibility because (although I don't acknowledge the existence of any deity) God created us gay. Only a hypocritical, malicious God would create homosexuals and tell them, "Don't be gay!" Saying that, the Bible is full of contradictions and malicious absurdities...
Thanks Jonny for asking a question which challenges society. You rock :-)

God loves gay people, just not the Homosexual act. For the record, I don't think that fetuses know that they are gay, but if there was a way to find out if they were genetically prone to homosexuality, I bet that there would be an outcry to stop aborting the gay babies, but it would remain roulette for the straight babies, usually the females.

God loves all people, including those people still "knit" in the mother's womb, aka: "fetuses." However, by asking about "gay fetuses" is assuming there is such a thing. That would be like my asking, "Why is the sky always plaid?" when in fact it isn't. People are not born gay. Though, it is true that some are born with more of a bent towards that lifestyle, just as some are born with a stronger tendency to lie, cheat, steal, murder, be prideful, commit adultery, become a chemical addict, etc. But the catch is that it is all about the choices we make. Will I cheat on my husband and claim that I was born polygamous and that it is therefore ok? No. I have a choice to make. However, whatever my sin-nature tendencies are, be they to lie or to be gay, my God loves me and sent His Son to Earth to die for me, just as He did for all sinners. My job is to acknowledge my sin as sin and that I cannot break free from my sin without His help. My job is not to make excuses but to own my sin as no one but me commits my sin. The same is true for all sinners, whatever their banes are, including gays and lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders.

Personally, I have a very different opinion on God, or supreme being, or higher power. What ever you want to call him/her/it.
I believe that we are all part of divinity. We are all parts of the divine that have been put here on earth to experience the world through many different lives. We are all expressions of the love that the higher power has for us.
If there is love, then the higher power is pleased. I really don't think that the higher power disapproves of gay people because they are.....people! People who love and live and learn just like anyone else. I think that the christian version of god has been warped in many ways to reflect what society thinks is appropriate. Who are we to know the true heart of the higher power? But I have faith that love between two people can't be wrong. When that love is between two people who care deeply for eachother and are in a healthy relationship....why is it wrong?

Yes, of course. And there are gay fetuses, as recent research has proven that homosexuality is at least somehwat due to genetics. God does not hate the "sin" of homosexual love making because sin doesn't exist and He wouldn't have made gay people if he didn't want them to know themselves and be gay. It doesn't make sense. As for all of you bigots out there; you are the one who cannot think for yourselves. If you could, you would realize that your priest or whatever has misinterpreted your own Book. Read it yourself and you will realize that gay LOVE is definitely not one of your "sins".

Of course God loves gay people. God is love, the very source of love. God manifested the entire universe from Its self and thus we are all reflections of God. We get lost in the illusion that we are all different because we allow the diversity of the exterior confuse us, but the reality is that we all have the divine spark within us, that God dwells in each of us. We should strive to see God in all people, all things, and to give everyone and everything the same respect and dignity that we give to God. We should treat everyone with the same honor we treat God for God dwells in each of us.

God loves everybody!!! It's just that he doesn't approve of "gayness" because that's not the way he intended it to be. Basically being gay is like a slap in the face, since he sacrificed his life for us. And if you say you can't help being gay go to church or talk to someone because God didn't make gay people, he gave people the right to choose and if they choose the wrong path to follow that is considered a sin in God's eyes.
