The only other thing I could do it gently massage his belly and also try taking his legs and raising his knees to his chest a few times very slowly. That always seems to help my daughter a little bit.

Well maybe you do not have anything now but get something for him tomorrow and keep it on hand as it will repeat
http://www.babycareadvice.com
go here and click on left
How can we help
and then click on gas
And you can relieve this child by rubbing it's stomach for 2 minutes one way
and 2 minutes the other way in a circle
it works better if you do this b4 hand to prevent
so much gas build up
Ask The pharmacy about what to get
I remeber using something that was called Pham something
it worked excellent with my child years ago

My son had trouble. I put a little very warm (not hot) water in a bottle and it relaxed his tummy enough to release the gas. Also try resting him on his back w/ feet toward you. Holding his feet, gently push his knees into his tummy over and over.

I know my wife used to put the kids on their back hold both of their legs and gently push like knees to chest. This might a sign of some intolerance to something or salmonella.

Lay him on his back and move his legs simultaneously as if he were jogging that helps him move his gas out of his stomach. That always worked on my daughter.

laying on your left side helps gas move.... also the hot water bottle will help the discomfort. if that doesnt work try a warm bath... all kids fart in the tub ;)

Bounce him up and down on your knee. Seems rough, but it'll work quite well. It works better than any medicine I've ever used.

After doing what you do, have you tried a little gripe water? Always did the trick for our boys when they were little like your's.

Lay him on your lap with his butt higher than his head, and pat him as if to burp him.
Gas rises. It truly does work.
