18 yr old, healthy male, starting college next week, but has had strange low-grade fever, what could this be?

18 yr old male starts college next week, fever that becomes worse as the day goes on, feels tired and unable to to normal activities. Dr. said all blood test neg for infection, mono etc. this is going on week 3. worried he will still be sick when its time to move away. any ideas? He doesnt have sore throat or congestion etc.

Sounds like he has FUO...fever of unknown origin. There isn't too much that can be done. He just has to wait it out until it goes away or develops into something. Most fevers of unknown origin just go away without any illness ever developing.
