Quick name a God/Deity modern or historical that you don't beleive in.... Here's a few if you can't think of one Thor, Zues, Isis, Ra, Vishnu, the God that lives on the top of X mountain, the spirit in X river, the God that resides under that rock.

Ok lets say for hypothetical sake in all history people have beleived in 1,000,000 gods.

The atheist doesn't beleive in 1,000,000 gods

The agnostic isn't sure that there are 1,000,000 gods but if one ever makes their presence known they will beleive.

The monotheist (Islamic, Christian, and Jew etc.) doesn't beleive in 999,999 gods

The Polytheist....well I feel sorry for the person who has to deall with 1,000,000 gods but lets say the polytheists doesn't beleive in 999,998 to 999,970 gods.

Wow look at that....we all have one thing in common we don't beleive in 900,000+ gods.

What do I have in common with an atheist? I'm a Christian and I would have to say a lot. We both need food to survive. We breathe the same air. We have families and people that we love. And we were both created by God whether neither of us choose to believe it or not.

The one thing I have in common is questioning the logic of it all. From the time we are born, we are taught to respond to only what you see for yourself, or have experienced. I am Christian, and although I do believe in Him, sometimes it is hard to hang on to nothing but faith, the faith about how completely true every word of the bible is, that there is some BEING more immense than we could ever even touch. None of this that has been recorded in the great book has ever been proven by archaologists or historians. So to fully rely on faith, and hope that I am following THE religion that is TRUE, and not completely KNOWING that where I am going is heaven when I die, is something that aetheists and people from other religions ask me all the time...and I do not know the answer fully.

Your argument is a foolish one. I'll explain.

Let's say you and I were both sick and you looked at 1 million possible cures and saw no answers. But I looked at the same 1 million and found 1 cure for both of us. That one is all we need. Whatever the other 999,999 are would be unimportant. And whether it was 999,999 or 2 makes no difference. The important one is the cure not the others.

Perhaps. We also have in common a heavenly father who loves us and wants to offer us salvation.

I don't understand all that hatred that goes on with BOTH sides. I have noticed more from atheists but maybe that is because I am more sensitive to it. Putting aside differences however is not the answer. Our differences make us who we are. I think gaining a sense of mutual respect would be nice.

I have nothing in common with atheist. I think it's just a man made religion... if that at all. Atheist don't have any proof that there is no God. But I do know one thing do believe in one God, Jesus Christ. And for those who don't believe in him your day will come. So for those who don't believe in him I so sorry for you your loss because I know where I'm going after I die.

Excellent work...a worthy goal to find commonality...it's a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately according to the God Squad you will still go to hell forever if you don't believe in THEIR God. No matter what you say and they will probably see your question as an attack/affront to their faith.

my beliefs are similar to baptist. i believe in god but i dont have to go to church to prove it. i believe in what i believe and it dont matter if anyone feels the same. its there decision. an atheist doesnt believe in anything but yet they can walk on this earth like it was magically put here. it came from somewhere. wake up. i never understood the way they believe, yet in school we couldnt say the national anthum because there was an atheist in our class. and this was about 15 yrs ago. people believe in whatever they are going to believe in and no one can change it so keep living.

Umm....I actually kinda, sorta not really believe in other gods...I'm not going to entirely disbelieve the Norse, Egyptian, Greek, etc. gods. Then again, I'm agnostic.

bet it still won't wake anyone up to the fact that 1 god is just another god in a line of gods
