what age is the condition of scolliosis diagnosed? i have a niece i am concerned may have this problem she is 8 yrs old

It can be diagnosed at any age. It is up to the parents to take her to the doctor for a check for it or for a complete physical (it can be picked up at that time also).
Many people have some curve in their spine and small spinal curves of less than 10 degrees are considered a normal variation. Only curvatures of more than 10 degrees are considered to be scoliosis.

Scoliosis can also be identified at an overly younger age. Her pediatrician must have already discovered the concern.
