I just recently worked with director Chen Shi-Zheng on "Dark Matter" starring Meryl Streep, Aidan Quinn, & Liu Ye. He was very nice, as well as his entourage from China.

My uncle is a consultant in Shenzhen, China. I always think that I am going to move there for the cullinary opportunities.

Last year, I was at a fundraiser and was sat with the writer Amy Tan (famous for the Joy Luck Club and other books). It was an interesting night and very pleasant company.

A few years before that, I worked for the IOC, and the Chinese Olympic organization (for the Bejing Olympics) was a little peculiar. Nice, but seemed out of their element.

I think the Chinese are a very proud and dignified race, across the world. They have a strong cultural tradition, wonderful food, beautiful art and crafts and some wonderful literature.
I have lived among the Chinese and also travelled to China.

Sometimes people think the Chinese are secretive, but I think the Chinese are just shy and wary of people from other races.

The Chinese have given the world a lot of great things!

I went there for three weeks last year and I had the time of my life. I ate in some amazing restaurants and went to great bars. The people were generally nice once I got used to them staring at me. I did all the tourist stuff in Beijing and Shanghai but managed to find my way off the beaten track too. Fantastic. The people work very hard for very little though. My friend teaches English to adults there and I went out with her students for dinner which gave me great insight into their lives. They were really great people. I feel the country is most certainly on the rise. There is so much development and I did wonder how the poorer people would manage to keep up with the progress. All the Chinese that I know are great people but then I wouldn't be friends with them if they weren't.

I lived in texas and the United states for over 30 years. I am totally americanized.

My experience living in texas is that generally nobody likes asians or chinese in general.

I have experienced much racism here and been called a chink many times by blacks, hispanics, and whites. Even at Lowes a couple months ago I was standing in line and the white woman says outloud "I think chinese people are weird". Some blacks, hispanics, and whites do discriminate.

But this is Texas, and this state has always been known to have racist issues.
