I attempted to completely erase my hard drive, so that I could start over new, and when I did, the computer restarted and went to a black screen with "error loading operating system" at the top, and it is stuck on this screen I can press F1 to get into set up, but thats all I can do. I don't have any backup disks or any of the disks that came with the computer. What do I do??? Pleeeeease help, I'm desperate!

Since you say, you want to start over new, you need to install an Operating System like Windows XP etc. Load the OS and your PC works.

you can't erase your hard drive and start over. you need to have the reimage your drive with the system restore disk that comes with your OS. when it boots, press F12 or something like that that takes you into the boot settings. there, you select boot from cd rom drive. You can then follow the instructions that tell you what to do. I have done this many times, so do not think that i am lying to you

Hai, if u have the windows xp bootable disk that will solve ur problem. If u have one, place the disk in the drive. go to the bios menu and in that go to advanced tab and select the first bootable device as cd and select save and quit. then u can follow the instructions, u can format the disk u want to install and install the software.ok bye .
