High tech and living aren't the same thing. High tech replaces human labor, but it doesn't replace human love, devotion, responsibility, spirituality, friendship, or most of the real reasons for being. I think you can make it all pretty simple. None of us can absolutely know why we are here, but if you do your best with every day you are given, if you consciously decide to put your efforts into kindness and understanding, then you can't really go wrong.

In this hi-tech world there are moments when we think that we are not living a purposeful life, we are just a tool in a huge technological/mechanical system.
That is where your wisdom gives way and your intellect comes in. We don't live the lives of hermits...with a feeling that we are living a purposeful life. Rather in modern times, we find peace and solace of mind in piece meals. Sometimes...smiles, love, friendship, relations, kids, charity...but nothing seems permanent, we should have the capacity of appreciating and enjoying such moments...and that will make us feel that we are leading a purposeful life.

The same as it was way back in the day. To live your lives, find a way to enjoy the time you have on this earth and possibly create a family if you so choose. We have the high tech world, because we are evolving as a species, not because it is some thought process of an invisible parent figure. We are developing a new world everyday, it is evolving, changing and it is a product of our knowledge and ours alone.

to be so lulled and lazy by it's ease that when it finally fails globally, everyone in the world will be at square 1. Only the strong (willed) will survive.
although the chaos that would ensue from a global hi-tech meltdown is probably a lot more pleasing then a world nuclear war.
but that's my crackpot .02 on this tuesday morning..
