This is a long citation, but there is an interesting website which explains this further. Here is the link: http://www.inchristalone.org/WhatMeanBornAgain.htm

In John 3, Nicodemus, a pharisee, went to see Jesus and he asked the question, what does it mean to be born again? This is the chapter which has the famous verse: John 3:16 (For God so loved the world...). According to the website above. Nicodemus was a typical Biblical pharisee. So dogmatic in his beliefs that he could not see the evidence even though it was literally sitting just a few feet away.

Nicodemus believed that his ticket to eternity was based on the fact of his Jewish heridity. Because he was born a Jew and kept the law. He was "Righteous" enough to go to heaven. What Jesus explained to him was that salvation is based on the condition of your heart, not your genetics.

Through Jesus death, burial and atonement on the cross. We die to our heritage, a sinful nature. And we are born again as Children of God into God's family through salvation. This is why God sent his son to die for us. That no matter who believes, no matter what they have done before, all that really matters is that a person is willing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. This means, not only saying the right prayer, but to actually turn your life over to Christ and make him Lord (in control) of your life.

Long explanation I know, but a Born Again Christian is one that renounces their old ways and is determined to follow Jesus.

A born-again Christian usually implies someone who was taught a faith different than biblical Christianity, but who comes to believe later in life. The experience of surrendering your life to the care of Jesus Christ, God the Son, is a very emotional one, as God Himself reaches down and touches a person for the very first time, and feels like a rebirth.

Pentecost: What's That?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The day of Pentecost was observed in Jerusalem fifty days after the celebration of the Passover, which commemorated Israel's deliverance out of Egypt. It is significant that this day was chosen by the Lord to begin the fulfillment of Joel 2:28: "I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh...."
The Spirit came upon the waiting, praying disciples in an overwhelming manner. Their complete commitment to Christ and His commission evoked a mighty baptism of God's power. This was evidenced initially by their speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4). The Spirit was resident in their lives from that moment. The Spirit-filled early church witnessed many outstanding miraculous happenings (Acts 3:1-7; 4:31). They were able to lead victorious lives as a result of their Pentecostal experience.

Two baptisms were disclosed on the day of Pentecost. There was a baptism in the Holy Spirit, and in the Apostle Peter's message that followed, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ was commanded (Acts 2:38). This outward, physical baptism mysteriously merges with that of the Spirit, and is the "one baptism" of Ephesians 4:5. This is what Jesus referred to as being "born again" in John 3:3-7. And how wonderful to be born into the family of God-changed, transformed, and made a "new creature in Christ Jesus".

No, Pentecost is not a denomination. It is a new birth experience. It is primitive Christianity made relevant to today's world. The people referred to as Pentecostal simply believe, teach, and receive all that transpired on that birthday of the church...Pentecost, 33 A.D. There is a church near you that embraces these basic Christian truths and experiences. You owe it to yourself to attend-and see what Pentecost can really mean to you!

A born again Christian, is someone who has asked Jesus to forgive them of their sins, and to come into their heart and soul. A person must repent of their sins and mean this sincerely, they must be ready to turn their lives over to Jesus and to live for him, putting him first in their lives. John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

This concepts has a few implications: 1) It undercuts Jewish dependence on being sons of Abraham. 2) It reveals that there must be a work of God, since Jews considered children (new births)to be God's blessing. 3) It teaches the necessity of a new beginning.

A born again christian has accepted Jesus as his or her personal savior. One who has admitted he is a sinner. One who believes Chirst died and rose again for the forgiveness of sin. One who confesses this belief through prayer.

Well, you're born once into this world, from your mother. (physical birth)
Then you're born again (if you ask Christ to make you a new creation.) You get a clean, new soul..(spiritual birth).everything before that is wiped away. You become a baby Christian....

The Born again Christians are the one who fails to undersatand the GOD's plan and System which they have recived while comming to this world ( from their parents) and find a better plan for themselfs after learning the various options around them.

If god has selected a womb for you to enter this world/ life try to find GOD from that situation itself which the best thing that can do to give thanks to your GOD ( irrespective of the religion)

"Born Again" refers to be born into a new spirit. One closer to God, and away from secular things. A "new creation", according to some.
