Batteries are good for society and bad for the enviroment. They allow for portable energy whick makes lots of things possible such as an iPod or a Car. batteries are full of chemicals that don't breakdown very easily as well as very BASIC (the extreme opposite of an acid) liquides that can do real harm when they come into contact with organic tissue.
