Families moving pretty soon but stuck at the crossroads leading to either Oregon or Ohio and we're not sure which way to go....

Portland!!!
It is beautiful out here and the weather is temperate, if a little soggy in the winter. Also, Portland is just a 6 hour drive from one of the most beautiful cities in the World! (Vancouver, BC)
Also, Oregon has no sales tax, and all kinds of activities, especially if you are an outdoors person, all seasons. Life is on a more laid back pace here, and people are open and friendly.
