Judas may have done something that in the end gave glory to God, but that is what all things will do; God has it figured out, and anything anyone does will, in the end, only glorify him.

However, Judas's motives, which we know must have been wrong, are justification for his common condemnation as a traitor of Christ. He did not know that Jesus had to die - he either did not believe in Jesus or he wanted to get Jesus into a tight spot that Jesus would have to fight to get out of, thereby establishing him as ruler of Israel.

YES, Judas was hero b/c it was his action that created Christianity as we know it. Had Jesus not been crucified, Christianity would not even exist. However, the ignorant always need someone to blame for their troubles, and for this reason Judas was villified by the church.

He didnt make the ultimate sacrifice... its easy to betray Jesus, I see it daily. But it was prophecied that Jesus would be betrayed, if Judas didnt do it someone else would have. I dont hold him as a horrible person though, he was very sorry he did it.

No, he was a traitor and Jesus had this to say about him:

Jn 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

"Perdition" means "eternal damnation". Hardly a commendation by Jesus, and if Jesus saw Judas that way, why in the world would we ever see him as a hero? He was a traitor. Pure and simple. Jesus said so.

I don't think so. If I remember correctly he not only betrayed Jesus but also took his own life. If I am recalling this correctly, to commit suicide is a terrible sin in which there is no opportunity for redemption. I don't reallyl understand what sacrifice you are refering to.

No he did not make a sacrifice. He took a life as the last thing he did on this earth which is saying to God "I am God".
