One of the reasons we are in the mess we have inflicted on Mother Earth, is because of our lack of acknowledgment to what we have been given within us. This is causing mass ignorance and selfinflated egos. This is not the way forward.

Freewill is used to make our choices and decisions during this part of life. It is not fair to our innerself to neglect this.

If we do not look within how can we really make the right decisions or be prepared to learn from our mistakes?

We cannot turn away from ourselves and try to justify our greeds and arrogance anymore.

the Truth as you have said, is within. Most of us (christians and others) do not really appreciate nor understand the awesomeness of the power given to us by God. Read Gen 2 and you will find that after God made all things, He brought them to Adam to name and whatsoever Adam called it, that it is called even till today.

the Answer to all things is simple, yet difficult to understand and accept. Within everyman that accepts the Lord Jesus, is the Truth and understanding of all things.

To understand why people search out there for answers, is to understand why Eve fell in the garden of Eden. One of the great gifts of God to mankind is free will. Its was given to us (even Angels dont have that gift!) so that we may come to a point where we contribute and reason well in our relationship with the Father. God allowed man the ability to look at things from mans point of view and then process the information derived to make the right decisions.

Unfortunately, man takes that priviledge and uses it to reason God out of their lives. The simplicity of the Word of God is the answer to all questions and quest.

Where do greed and arrogance come from but within ourselves. Your belief is precisely the problem. When people look for the answers within themselves, they lie to themselves. What is wrong one day is right the next. Why? Because our feelings changed or we didn't get enough sleep, or our tummy ached. Looking within yourself is nothing more than a fancy way to exhibit the arrogant attitude that "You have all the answers". Sorry, but that kind of thinking is the problem, not the solution.

rightly said. some times our decisions & choices go wrong. inspte of our efforts . we r not able to find out where we went wrong. even we try to find the truth which is there within . what do we do then ? we have to search for the answers " out there " isn't it ? i agree that truth is there within. it may not be lack of acknowledgement or selfinflated ego which is responsible for not finding the truth. it might be just ignorance or over looking or not aticipating the results .then we need to search for the answer form different sources. but don't you feel that it is better to search for the answer "out there " instead of just accepting our ignorance & keeping quitet ?in this way we may be solve the problem.by searching the answers "out there " justifies that we not tuning away from ourselves. that shows that we r ready to accept other's advise also.

It's painful for the ego to look within, therefore most will take the easier outward path. To look within, to really acknowledge that you have been avoiding self-responsibility is something many people are not ready to face yet. The signs of this malady are evident as you have stated, in our environment and in the societal condition of the planet right now.

It's easier to ignore or marginalize other cultures than it is to accept and work with them.

"Driving this big gas hog gives me confidence, little ole' me doesn't affect the environment."

"Why should I do all of this work to reach salvation when I can sit back and let my religion do it for me?"

There is and old saying that " Ignorance is Bliss" and many would like to keep it that way

great words, but if you have nothing of value within, you can sit all day and night and end up with legs asleep and numb,
what you are looking for ,the answer, the truth, you really have to have something to work with other than just your innerself, you have to seek truth and knowledge, and if its not in you,you have to find it, it's not just going to one day pop in your head,if you don't know the difference and or not taught these things so you can make a decision, then you are just,a person with a brain, with no direction, void of experience, and knowledge, because without these, your free will is worthless.

I agree completely. I am an advocate for nature, and you are correct, what we are doing is not right.

The only trouble with looking within is getting tangled up in your own thoughts. I find my self doing this on a daily basis. Maybe people ask questions to see if they truly aren't insane.

We are a part of the wonderful cycle of Nature. We are surrounded by miracles, but we fail to see them because we neglect them. It is something we must work to achieve, and is just as important as anything else in what we call "civilization".

Nature shows us balance. We need to maintain that balance, but have been too self absorbed in our p[ersonal lives that we overlook the big picture.

Maybe I'm naive, but at least these thoughts cross my mind...as they should the minds of all.

I agree you can find much truth inside your self. But their is also truth in others if you can see beyond the fronts and bull. Our earth is in distress yes, but it is greed and ignorance that has done this. looking within will make us realize that we were wrong to treat each other and the earth the way we do but it won't change how we live. communicating, sharing our ideas, and working together is what will improve our world. we need to learn to express good, instead of bad. We need to trust and be honest. That will create a better world.

There is a way that seems right to a man but the end is the way of death.
from Proverbs, a book of the Bible.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me."
If you are looking for truth, check Him out. He's either a liar, a lunatic or the Lord.

This is a lot harder than it sounds. To look within and 'receive' the answers, one has to let go of all thoughts in the mind. The trouble is, it is hard to ask yourself a question without searching for an answer in the logical mind. This is the hard part-- how do we find an answer within after we have let go of all thoughts in the mind.

I have found that most people search elsewhere before themselves because to enter into yourself is a very scary and difficult process. You get confronted with your most basic and powerful desires and fears. Some people cannot handle that. I myself look to myself and all around me and by compiling it all together, getting all the facts, you can find the most logical reason or explanation to anything.
