Were the 100's of 1000's of women killed as witches by the christians guilty? Did they have a different bible? Is the bible so ambiguous?

The bible is wrong about a lot of things.

You gotta remember the bible has been rewritten, added to, taken away so many times that no one is sure exactly what it says anymore.

By the way have you ever tried to look at the original version of the bible??? Well don't try. Noone has it. It is long gone.

I guess in all the haste to cover their tracks the original version was misplaced.

So next time someone quotes it.. ask them to show you the original copy to make sure it says what they say it says.

1 Samuel 28 only makes reference to the witch of Endor. The account as found in the Bible is accurate.
What happens most of the time in an open forum like this one is that biased opinions based on little information and/or incorrect information is shared and the authors would like others to believe in their opinions based only on conjecture. I'm not trying to convert anyone here but consider the following facts:

Homers Iliad is widely accepted as what it is. It was written around 900 BC. Only 643 copies are known to exist and they date back to only 400 BC, 500 years AFTER the original. there are no original copies of Homers Iliad.

The writings of Plato - were written somewhere between 427 and 347 BC. The earliest copies date to 900 BC and there are only 7 existing copies.

The writings of Heroditus from around 480-425 BC. Earliest copy dates to 900 AD for a time span of 1300 years! and only 8 copies exist.

The New Testament was written roughly from 50-90 AD. The eyewitnesses to the events were still alive and could confront/debunk the writings. the earliest copy dates to 130 AD for a time span of only 40 years and there are over 24,000 documented and authenticated remaining copies. The Old Testament Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947 and date back to 250 BC, the earliest remaining copy of the OT dates back to 826 AD. There are over 14,000 surviving OT documents today!

Modern archaeologists state that the Bible stands on it's own merits. that the social practices, cities, leaders, political situations, etc., are just as described in the Bible.

The only accurate statement by Alex is that there is no surviving "original" Old Testament, but with over 14,000 existing copies most of which date from 826-250 BC, you'd be hard pressed to make a claim that it's fabrication with so many authenticated and accepted ancient documents pointing to its veracity.

Just a little something to make you say, hmmmm.

If you are referring to the witches in the Old Testement days. Witches were either put to death or driven off because witch craft involved communion with demonic spirits and it caused people to turn away from God. Now if witches were killed by Christians after the New Testement then it was wrong. If Christians are putting people to death then God is not in it. There are unfortunately Christians groups who operate in the Name of Christ, but are actually operated by the devil. And their actions reflect that of a devilish nature and not God.

define guilty. do you see being a witch as a state of guilt? or did they do something that was actually wrong? many were simply killed because they were midwives, healers, seen as threats to the church, redheads, had a funny mole, outspoken women, promiscuous, or the people in power didn't like them....
