I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, but so does J-Lo, and I like her hair lighter. Do you think I should leave my hair natural or lighten it?

I feel like a jerk for being so ambivalent, but I think you can go either way - you're young enough to do something "fun" but your hair looks beautiful the way it is as well. I guess chalk me up to a "have fun if you'd really like to" vote.

If you really like the look of lightened hair, get what they call "mini-highlights". Basically, they put in 6 foils and it really does make a difference, but not too much that it's hard to fix up if you hate it.

You can get natural looking highlights. just tell the person doing your hair you want it to look natural not drastic and fake.
