Mercy, after working for a telemarketing co. i was advised the only way a customer could stop the calls was to say, and i quote "Please put me on your Do Not Call List", they must comply by law! If you say anything else, they will simply code the call to call you back, over and over.
If they argue, u simply say "This is an unlisted #, put me on your do not call list" They honestly have no way of telling if it is in fact unlisted... regardless, the Do Not Call List is real! They usually say, "okay, please be advised that this may take up to __ days/weeks/months to be processed and u may receive calls prior to the execution of your request" simply say "Ok, thank you" and they will hang up.

You can use this reverse phone lookup service ( http://reversephones.info ) PhoneDetective is a caller ID application that covers landline numbers, cell phones and business lines. It's a cheap service that works great! It could be used for a much deeper search. You can use it to get hold of different varieties of background reports, and in addition cell numbers, addresses and names.. you can get unlimited reports... I ran with this because I required to verify more numbers. You can get the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and much more about anyone! The completly free reverse phone lookup generally doesn't provide anything interesting. To get interesting information, money will must be paid. The free searches don't provide considerably more than what may be found through the phone directory or personal information and they simply require your email to send spam. The reverse phone detective search tool does work, but you should use just the service that I posted above. The last thing you want to do, is pay for a service and find the numbers you want to lookup are not available in their directory.

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://reversephone.toptips.org

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just
by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number.
The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay.
Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for.
I definitely reccomend this service.

If you live in the States, go to the National Do Not Call Registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx and register your phone numbers. It works very well. Best thing you can do if you have to answer a call from a telemarketer is to simply say "Sorry, not interested. Bye." and immediately hang up (not necessary to slam the phone or be nasty). Even if they are still talking as you are hanging up the phone, you will already have played your part in being polite. They will not be offended--telemarketers get rejected far more times than they ever get actual sales. They are very used to rejection (unless they are new at that kind of work).

Try and sell them something. For example, "Okay, but before you go any further let me tell YOU about this great new deal we're having today down at Roscoe's House of Discount Couches(any made-up "discount" store will do) , buy now and we'll throw in the genuine camel-hair ottoman at no extra charge!"

And tell me the Telemarketer would want to stay on the line after that! :)

This is the best option for a reverse phone number lookup https://tr.im/721a7
Receiving a one or two hang up calls each month is probably nothing to worry about, but when those calls increase in frequency and if it happens in the middle of the night then you must do something to stop it, before it starts affecting your life. With the help of this services you can take away the one advantage these people have - their anonymity.

Tell them that you might be interested, but then ask them if it's okay if you can take down their home phone number and that you'll call them back when they are in the middle of eating dinner with their families or watching their favorite show.

Even though I am on a No-Call list, I still get calls.

It is best to be honest and direct. My wife says, No thanks, we're not interested.

I usually say the truth by crying out, " Well, I am still unemployed so I guess that I wouldn't be a very good customer for you.

They always understand.

You can enter your number into the governent's "no call" list online, or you can just say "please hold" and set the phone down and walk away. Even the most dedicated salesperson hangs up after awhile.
