rub off on me, so I don't see them that much, but I'm nice whenever I do see them. Is it okay for me to just keep my distance?

Their wierdness is on about a level 8 or 9, depending on which one of them you meet. There's one who's a 10.

How wierd is your family..My grandma is an alcoholic pill popper with dymensia, my aunt lives in a different state and has no friends, and wont eat soup unless she has a soup spoon and a soup bowl, and treats us like we're still 5. My uncle thinks he's always right and thinks that even though he doesn't have power of attorney over my grand parents that doctors will just tell him everything he wants to know about their medical history. I have an uncle that looks like santa clause. I have a 14 year old cousin that weighs 400lbs.

The other side.. I have grand parents who eat raw hamburger. One uncle with 3 ex wives.. one uncle with 2 ex wives.. all these ex wives have different sets of kids.. my grandma ran away with the milk man and my grandpa slept with my grandmas sister that was my dad's age and got her pregnant. My step mom got my dad thrown in jail for parole violation so she could keep doing "favors" for the guy across the street for free drugs..

I could go on.. everyone's family is wierd.

Okay, there are like different levels of wierd. Are we talking about you are a teenager kind of wierd. Or don't go into Uncle Alice's bedroom wierd? If it's the former, you'll be amazed at how much more normal they get as you get older. If it's the latter, yeah, stay away..... icky.

Family is family. No matter how weird they are, they're still your family. Just because you spend time with them, it doesn't mean they'll rub off on you. You are still your own person. The bond that you could possibly have with your family is greater than a bond you could have with your friends. Why deprive yourself of that? Just remember that friends come and go, but family is always there.

If they are weird in a way that would hurt someone and/or get arrested keep the hell away from them.
If they are just weird, go see them. But, stay in a motel.

Sounds like my family, but like it or not the weirdness will rub off on you.

Why don't you fill us in on the weirdness, then it would be easier to answer... I don't think weirdness can rub off someone, but you never know
