I have driven both fairly extensively. The Neon, hands down. The Omni is old tech, less reliable than the Neon, and the GLH-S is really a one off model: remember it was a Shelby product not a Chrysler product, and so it is tougher getting support for it.

Although I will say those front seats in the SRT-4 are not made for people with wide hips and can be torture on long drives!

If the GLH-S was the turbo model I still have to say the neon because the Omni is still an Omni. Just my opinion but I think the omni was the Pinto of Dodge

I have a dodge neon and it REALLY sucks.
If I absolutely had to choose I would go for the Neon, but only out of desperation.
I bought my neon new 2 years ago and had to take it to a dealer 4 times over a gas leak. The radiator went out almost destroying the transmission and engine. Tranny fluid ended up in the coolant overflow. And the control arms & bushings needed replaced. This is only the start of the problems I have had, I have a loooong list.
The only good thing about the car is, it is decent on gas, it is roomy for long distance drives and parts are easy to find.
I would personally recommend a Toyota. You can get them around the same price and are a much better car.
