Try switching to an "atypical" like Wellbutrin (=zyban). Get off the s.s.r.i.'s slowly by a controlled switch over. Cold turkey can raise some really nasty side effects.
Good luck,
Dan.

It can take up to a month for it to start working, but SSRI's can cause fatigue in some people. Zoloft might not be the right one for you. Your doctor might want to try upping your dose or trying another one. Talk to your doctor about it, they should be able to make a judgment call on how to handle it. In the meantime, exercise is a good way to increase your energy levels, as well as kick some of that depression. A walk in the park, or dancing at home to music you love is always a good way to get your heart pumping a little & get your neurotransmitters flowing!

Try SAM-e? It is a natual anti-depressant with no effects. I suggest that you research on that and ask your primary care doctor about it before taking it. It is similiar with St. John Wort, but this one is better since it has no effects. St. John Wort has a very fewer effects than SSRI.
SAM-e has been around in Europe for many years before it was introduced in USA a few years ago. I have seen some taking it and it works wonder for them. It sells at Walgreens among with other vitamins on the counter. It states that SAM-e is very safe to take it.
Just a 2-cents.

i am on the same type of drugs almost all of them make you gain weights. They took me off of one of my meds and i lost 60 lbs. like nothing. So yes they do slow down your metabolism and make you gain weight funny part is is that you find you eat less and gain more! Go Figure!

It definitely has something to do with messing up your metabolism. May I suggest getting off of them. I was able to after following Dr. Burns therapy techniques in his book: "The Feeling Good Handbook". I've been depression and drug free for over a year now thanks to his help.
'nuff said?
