Usually the family favorite is the Labrador...of course. But some people prefer a smaller, more peaceful dog like a Maltese or Pomeranian, while others might enjoy a strong guard dog like a German Shepherd. For the time being, my personal favorite is the Dachshund because it has just the right amount of homeyness and playfulness. What I hope to have when I am older is a Great Dane just because they're...well...great!

Boarder collie is a good one of mine, but my FAV. is the German Sheperd if you wanted to get one for your girlfriend i would say a small dog like a chiwaua or a yorkie?they are all good!!!

Collie 's are great, i find the jack Russell a little to hyper. but i do like terriers, my favorite is a Yorkshire terrier, though cocker spaniels, and German Shepard's are pretty nice too.

Siberian Huskies. I have four of them. I had a border collie when I was 13 though. I loved her dearly but she died when I was about 15.

Dachshund, more loyal and more loving than any breed around. Has the attitude of a big dog but can only bite your lower leg.
