I know a guy who's in his early 20s and has only dated one girl, and is still a virgin. The only reason that went on was because she was the aggressor. Girls ask him out, but he has no desire to date. He prefers doing sports or outdoorsy stuff. Why?

He is not gay. Maybe he is waiting for marriage.
Some guys feel like dating can be sort of a hassle, although they are not anti. They seize the opportunity to ask out a really great girl, but don't really care to date just anyone, or to constantly be flirting. They flirt when they feel like it, and don't when they don't. Sometimes the greatest comfort is just kicking back and watching a movie or reading a book alone.
These guys hope to meet someone they can share their protected hearts with. They are usually thoughtful, caring, humorous, and respectful of women. They aren't out there for the play of the game or for a quick score. They focus on important things like school and work, and just hope that a wonderful woman will walk into their life and appreciate them.
This being the case. If a girl wants to get closer to a guy like this, she needs to keep open eyes, reciprocate small advances, and be appreciative and caring for unique characteristics or personalities. She needs to be supportive, needs to take initiative, and needs to be patient.

Maybe he had a bad experience with a girl before and is now turned off. That doesn't exactly make him gay or not gay. Or maybe he hasn't matured enough yet, some people take longer. I think more time and proof is required before making any judgements on the guy's sexual preference.

He just might be gay. No that's not it. Anyway, I have a friend like that but he flirted with girls and it took him forever to find a chick that digs him. Granted he was kinda weird, but it settle way, it was obvious that he liked girls, it just took him forever to find a girl he wanted to date.

us guys love to compete with others but we hate to hear the word no. lets be friends. its one of our problems that we have to get over it. just be patient and when you do find a guy like this one don't pursue sex. if he loves you he will wait till marriage. men want sex for themselves they don't give it to you because they love you until they are married to you. if he has sex with you before he marries you then marriage isn't important and he may have sex with other woman when he marries you. I'm sorry but that's the cold hard fact. if he waits until he marries you then when you get intimate it's not just sex. he's making love to you his wife and only his wife.

girls cause a lot of problems in guys' lives, so sometimes its just easier to not have a girlfriend....saves money and time, maybe he is just shy
