Meatballs
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs (or crushed saltines)
1/2 onion diced
1 garlic clove finely diced
1 Tbls Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste (1/2 tsp)
2 Tbls milk

Mix ingredients above and use a bowl of ice and water to soak your hands in from time to time to keep from warming the meat and getting the fat on it. Place formed meatballs in a large baking pan and bake in oven 350 degrees for 20-25 mins.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
1 Tbls canola oil
1/2 onion chopped in 1" cubes
1 green bell pepper chopped in 1" cubes
1 clove garlic and 1 slice fresh ginger crushed thru garlic press
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 Tbls tomato paste
2 tsp sesame oil
1 Tbls honey
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar (or white vinegar)
1 Tbls orange marmalade
1/2 tsp Tobasco
1- 8 ounce can of crushed pineapple drained

On high heat saute onions and bell pepper for 2 minutes. Turn heat to medium and add juice from the pineapple, soy sauce, garlic and ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, tomato paste, honey, marmalade, tobasco and simmer until thickened.

Spoon the meatballs and pineapple into the sweet and sour sauce for 5 minutes more and then serve over white rice.

Depends on your style of Sweet n Sour.
If you're more inclined to the chinese version of sweet n sour, basically the main components for the sauce are:-

tomato sauce
a little vinegar (preferably white)
bit of sesame oil
a teaspoon rice wine
sugar & salt to taste
a few tablespoons of water to aid mixing

its simple, cheap and easy to make, goes well with meatballs, chicken fillets, fish or anything else up to your creativity. (works even better if the "meat" is coated with light batter as it helps the sauce to adhere to it)

i know this sounds weird but you really should try it:
make your own meatballs or buy frozen ones
place in baking pan or long casserole
cover with 1 jar of sauerkraut amd 1 can cranberries (not jelly)
bake at 350 for 45 min - serve
they're so good and nobody will be able to tell what the sauce is

The stove just allows all the ingredients to set together instead of blending together. The Crockpot however allows all the ingredients to simmer and they eventually blend together creating a lucious blast of flavor and juicy tender meatballs.. YUM YUM!!
