LMAO! at the age of 20, don't even bother letting him date. He will be a momma's little boy by then for the rest of his life.

At 18, parents have no legal basis for trying to control a child's whereabouts--unless the child (now an adult) lives in their house. This shouldn't even be an issue for a 20-year-old person.
I think 16 is a good age to let kids stay out late unsupervised. They might get into trouble, but that's part of the growing-up process. Allowing them the practice is more important.

I believe in letting kids to start dating at about 16. At 18, the parents (at least in Oregon) don't have control of whether or not their kids date because they are no longer considered minors. So, I don't understand how you can 'let' a 20 year old go out/date when they are adults and can do basically what they see fit to do at that age.

20 years old is a bit late. Early teens is a great place to start with group outings or parent chaperoned activities. They've got to be ready to face dating on their own once they've reached college. Everyone needs practice.

16 &up at 20 they should be making decisions on there own maybe even done moved out at 16 they should have a limit at what time to be in the house but it gives them the sense of what the real world is really about so they'll be able to make wiser decisions when their older

20? You're an adult at 18, you can't do what you like. Dating, to me, should start around 16-17, depending how mature the kid is and how responsible.

i really dont think age has anything to do with it. its all about maturity. if u think ur kids are responsible enough and u trust them to be able to make the right decisions the hey, they could start early, say mayb 16. but like i said its all about TRUST and MATURITY (in terms of responsibility, not physical ofcoz!)
