Yes poverty is a crime. All those who have been blessed with much will be accountable for what how they used their provisions. I am poor and I still donate to specific charities. People hoard money and yes some would say that it is OK and maybe even right. But how can one live with themselves knowing that somewhere a mother holds a dying baby because she can't feed him. It's heartbreaking and I pray that more people would see the truth.

The site is okay. And poverty is obviously NOT a crime. That's something outrageous even to ask! You should know better than to put this forth for discussion. Where on earth is poverty in the Civil Code, or anywhere else, cited as a crime?

Poverty is relative.

According to modern American standards, just about every person alive on Earth 200 years ago lived in poverty. Only the poor would lack electricity and indoor toilets, right?

200 years from now, I'm sure living standards will have improved to the point where our descendants will believe anyone who lives like us is in poverty, too. Only the poor would die from cancer and lack cybernetic implants, right?

wrong category but a good question...

poverty is not a crime... rather it is a state of which people fall into during hard times when materials/elements are scarce. it's been a headache to those experiencing it and oftentimes driven to either lunacy or self-mortification and demise.

the problem is, it's always there... it has to be present.. to balance society... from poverty rises changes... ideals to be proven, economy to be tested, growth to be tried.... to battle poverty, one has to understand it's delusions... the reality of it bites our ego but we have to grow with it, accept that it exists and fight back to survive... sometimes, it becomes tools for people to succeed in life...

poverty must be check and lessen but it can never be eradicated... for if all are well develop, who would care to work better for the people's benefit? rather each would work for himself alone.

poverty will be a crime in 2020, poor people will be chased by killer machines, then their carcasses shall feed the masses, or something like that, I'm channeling Philip k dick, and Vincent price, so its a little foggy
