I'm a CNA so I know what you are talking about :) I have found that the inserts do work and the gel ones are the best. Also Dr. Scholls makes really good shoes you can get them at walmart and they are White (in case your hospitial has the dresscode for shoes) and they are really good on your arches and on your heel but still get in the inserts and you shouldn't spend over 50-60 dollars :)

Try this, my doctor told me to do it because my heels were so dry that they cracked and hurt...
SMOTHER your foot in Aveeno, or Gold Bond cream, wrap your foot in plastic wrap put on a sock and then go to bed ( do this before you go to sleep) and then when you wake up, sand your foot, or use a pumice stone. Do this 2 or 3 times a week, and your foot will be smooth in no time.

Get the Ms. Pedicure foot file and use that right when you get out of the shower, and them get a lotion for really sry skin. Like Suave's Mouisturizing Relief for Severly Dry skin and rub that on your heels, and then put on a pair of socks for a while until you feel the lotion on your feet dry. It works and your feet feel so good I try and Do this right when I get out of the shower in the morning and before bed.

I am barefoot most all year even in the snow. My feet were awful to. But I find that soaking them in epson salt water and then taking a simple fire place brick and scrapeng them works very well ! I was going through alot of the ones you buy. Now thats all I use and I do this twice a week and use lotion as well ... Its really working..

Use a pumice stone in the shower to get rid of the dead skin. Then moisturize with a generous amount of any lotion with shea butter.

You need a foot cream with lactic or uric acid in it. Have your doctor prescribe Lac-Hydrin or Carmol 40 Cream. Use as directed.
