The bible claims that at some point Jesus is going to return to the earth to claim it for the kingdom of God. Is Jesus going to punish all the infidels at that point who didn't call themselves Christians? (Please do not simply give me "answers" that are only quotes from the bible.)

for isoar4jc below: You are seriously incorrect about the definition of "infidel" and need to look at a standard English dictionary. An "infidel" refers to ANY person not considered part of a specific religious group, not just muslims. In fact, first definition : (1) "one who is not a Christian or who opposes Christianity."

MAN do we need to improve education in the USA!

Hey frankyglitz: If Jesus is coming back to judge all "men" (as you say) what's gonna happen to women? Are they gonna be left out of the judgment?

Britney D below = evidence that Christians believe Bush's decisions are supporting biblical prophecy (and that's a little frightening). The ramifications of such beliefs is that Bush is doing God's work, when in reality there isn't one thing in the New Testament that supports Jesus saying acts of aggression such as war are the acceptible means to an end.

More than likely, the ones to be punished would be the ones who go around pointing fingers at everyone who isn't like themselves. Everyone seems to lose their manners when it comes to religion.

Why would Jesus punish anyone? That would be rather counter productive in his goal of teacher others and showing mercy.

People do a fine enough job punishing themselves.

Yes, Jesus is going to come back, and he will bring judgement on earth. But, its not on ppl that just call themselves "Christians", its on those who didn't trust Jesus to be their Savior. You can call your self whatever you want, but if you don't trust Him, and believe what he did for you, then you will be left when Jesus comes.

No one knows when Jesus is coming, but when he does come (or rather leaves after he takes those who believe), there will be a lot of destruction, for example the anti-christ will be here, the moon will turn to blood, stars will fall from the sky, and in the end of seven years the world will end. Revelation is a great book to read on this topic!! I encourage you too. ( if you really are interested in this) As is the whole book of Isaiah, its full of prophecy, some ppl need help understanding it. Isiah 17:1 is a prophecy of what is happening today. (the war in Israel and Leb)

What do you truly think? God wants to come and take his people home. He wants everyone on planet earth to come. It is up to us to make that choice. If someone is living a life of faith, doing what they believe to be right, Do you think God will not accept them? The Bible says by the way (even though you didn't want to hear it) that people who live their lives by faith and conscience and dont' know of Jesus, are still going to be in heaven. So no to your question. But as Christians, Jesus gave a commission to go into all the world telling others of the good news. So that is why Christians are trying to tell others of Jesus.

How about this, if someone is a "christian" but does not live a life that reflects Jesus and God's law of love, if they don't have a realtionship with God, have they really accepted Jesus and are they going to heaven? By their fruits you shall know them.

I can call myself a billionaire but that doesn't make it true. What religion do you know that does the work Jesus left them to do and live the life according to the Bible, as closely as possible? First of all, they would never make war, that isn't loving your neighbor. They would have to go "house to house and door to door" telling about this kingdom of God (Matt. 24:14, Acts 20:20 for example) Isaiah says they will "learn war no more." So who is it that does these things? "you received free, give free..." , so who doesn't pass the collection plate or badger their followers for money constantly? Find the answer to these questions and find the truth about who will and who will not be destroyed.

Jesus will come back one day and Yes he will rule over all the earth and He will destroy all that is evil..........some on here said the day Jesus comes back is the rapture...........actually the rapture will occur before Jesus returns to the earth. The rapture is when all true believers will be taken to heaven to be with Jesus right away and those that arent will be left behind to endure what the bible calls the tribulation......during this period there will be earthquakes, floods, plagues, and the anti christ will appear and appear to bring peace, but it will be a false peace. During the anti christ's reign he will make it so a person has to wear a mark which is called the mark of the beast and if you dont wear it and worship him you wont be able to buy or sell things and in the end if you do come to Jesus before his truimphant return and dont take the mark you will die, but the good news is... they can only take your body not your soul........your soul will go to live with Jesus in heaven and you will have eternal life.

Jesus will come back at the end of the tribulation and in the bible it says he will be decending from heaven riding a white horse and on his thigh will be written King of Kings and Lord of Lords..........He will come back and rule with an iron hand.....For He and only He is soveirgn Lord of all......Those that are left that took the mark of the beast and refused to Take Jesus as Lord and Savior will be destroyed along with all evil in the world.

You see its not about being a christian.....its about Knowing and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior......this is the only way to get into heaven and Jesus tells us that in the bible " I am the way, the truth and the light no man get to the father but my me".........Its not about how many good works you do or how good you are........Its all about your personal relationship with Jesus and is he Lord of your life.......that is what it is truely all about. So, yes if you dont have Jesus as Lord of your life a person risks not getting into heaven and being living eternitity in a burning lake of fire.........not something i want to do at all.

In the end its all between the person and Jesus as to what will happen with their souls.....my advice to all is this " Embrace Jesus, learn about Him, love Him and accept Him as Lord and Savior........it will be the best thing you could ever do for yourself and what do you have to lose?

That would be a great big NO, my child. You are all here to learn from mistakes so that when you ascend to the next level of existence you will be an asset instead of just an ***. Besides, my child, who is to define the word, infidels, other than myself? Clean up thy act and do good deeds and ye shall enter my Kingdom with grace. Simple, don't you think?

ok good question! now, Jesus WILL return to earth. when he comes (which is not known by anybody when his return will occur), he will gather all followers of Him and take them to Heaven. Those who do not believe in Jesus will be left behind
and Yes in a way he will punish the non-believers. There will be famines, earthquakes and disasters that will happen after Jesus comes. (by the way, the return of Jesus is called the Rapture, a very happy day for us Christians) and it is not about "calling yourself Christian" it is about giving your life to Jesus and following him for the rest of your life. If you SINCERELY believe that he (Jesus) came to earth and died on the cross for your sins, then you will go to heaven. Good Question!

It doesn't matter what we call ourselves, that is not important. It does matter what Jesus sees when He examines our hearts. We can call ourselves whatever we like and we can fool each other, but Jesus can see what is in our hearts. He knows if we are truly saved or if we are just playing Christian. The ones that are just pretending to be believers are going to suffer more than one who does not believe and makes no claims.

I believe as long as you believe in the Higher Spirit, it doesn't matter what the religion is. All cultures have their beliefs. Not all are Christians. The Great Spirit knows who believe and who doesn't. How could he expect all people to be Christians, when each country is ,and persons are different.

Infidel is a word that means anyone not a muslim.

The bible refers to somthing called the great white throne judgement, inwhich your life is judged.

I beleive if you refuse Jesus's sacrifice, you will separate your self from God and bestow punishent on yourself.
