You can check into the Head Start programs... they offer free or reduced (on a sliding income scale) preschool programs. You have to complete an income form with your last year's tax information. Sometimes you can get free childcare from a center if you work for one as a teacher or assistant teacher. Other than that, I have not found any free childcare programs (at least in southern cal) unless your child has an identified disability. Then you can qualify for free childcare from your local Regional Center or school district or SELPA (special education local plan area).
