im not sure exactly what your question is, but do not put a 45/70 in a shotgun, shotguns develope much less pressure than rifles. a .410 and a 45/70 can both be chambered in the same weapons. you can fire a 410 shotshell out of a 45/70 rifle and it wont blow up and kill you , but putting a 45/70 cartridge in a 410 can and probably will. If you bought the shotgun just for the "action" there may be a custom barrel maker that you can order from online.hope this helps.

The issue is usually the barrel. If someone makes a barrel that fits the receiver, it should then be able to handle that round. Remember, H&R makes a single shot .410, which is the only "caliber" shotgun, not a "gauge" shotgun. I would think a 20 gauge creates more pressure etc. than a 45/70 does.

I'm not sure. The .45-70 is relatively low power, low pressure compared to modern ammo, still, I'd ask a competent gunsmith.

I know Ruger #1 makes a .45-70, but I have seen it as high as $1,350.00, so that's probably too high.

A custom barrel builder or a good machine shop should be able to make a .45-70 barrel that will function in that gun.

if what you want is a 45/70 just research and buy an old fashioned Sharps 45/70 buffalo gun
