Dig, I just got a stovetop hand-cranked popper - mine is made by Theatre II, and a google search will net you a picture (the only links I could find were to commercial sites, and I'm not sure if those are kosher).
Anyways, I used to make microwave popcorn, but lemme tell ya... you try some corn in one of these just once, and you will never settle for nuked corn again. I got some "butter and salt" flavour powder, which I threw in with the corn and oil, and bam, that's theatre corn right there.
Alternately, it makes kettle corn if you put in a bit of extra oil, half a teaspoon of salt and a few teaspoons of sugar in with the corn. Seriously, I know I sound like I'm shilling, but I'm not - I am genuinely as stupidly in love with this machine as I sound. You crank it for about three minutes, tops, there are no burnt or unpopped kernels.

i like ACT II BUTTER LOVER'S. i put it all in a freezer bag, put some honey, sugar , and cinnamon in the bag, and shake it all up really good. its best to add the ingredients while the popcorn is still hot, but pop the popcorn before adding the ingredients.

i like just the original buttered kind eaten with a brownie or chocolate bar. popcorn + chocolate = love!
and i like caramel popcorn too!
