I believe in science and reason.I believe in knowing why something is true rather then accept what people tell me or what a book tells me about why something is true.

Simply that there is no God(s)....it's not a religion, as in, other than that single statement, there are no unifying tenets, etc. It's a simple adjective that from its Latin roots means "without God." A common misconception is that atheists are immoral, anarchists, devil-worshippers, whatnot. Certainly they can be, I guess, but on average you're going to find that someone who doesn't believe in God has as much of a chance at being a good, normal person than anyone else. To generalize, most reject ideas that are come about by faith, and tend to stick to logic as their primary mode of thinking and understanding the world around them. Good luck in your learning!

Atheism isn't a belief, it's a disbelief. An atheist is someone "who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods." Atheists can believe in all sorts of other things but those beliefs have nothing to do with them being an atheist. Atheism isn't a religion, it's just a label.

One, it is "atheist", no capitalization, no extra e, and the only e comes before the i. Now that I have explained the spelling, the basic truth in atheism is that no deity (god/s) exists. I am not a satan worshiper, I have high moral standards and I enjoy helping people. I am generally a good person, and I reserve hatred only for the ignorant and idiotic. Most people would find me trustworthy, and I am well liked and appreciated in society.

Atheists believe a lot of different things. The only commonality is the lack of belief in a diety.

Atheists simply do not find sufficient evidence to initiate or sustain a belief in dieties. For my own part, I eschew beliefs entirely. Beliefs are an insidious mind-killer... they cut one off from the intellectually honest (willing to question and doubt one's own assumptions) consideration of alternative possibilities. Faith is a substitute for evidence. Belief is a substitute for knowledge. Neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance and delusion.
Imagine Mr. Mackey, the counselor, from South Park: "Beliefs are baaaddd... m'kay?"

Atheists believe there is no god. In other words, they believe in facts, in reality, in things that can be shown to be true, not in fables or stories that can never be proven and for which there is little or no evidence.

Atheists do not have a cohesive set of beliefs. The only thing they generally share in common is a lack of belief in deities.

They believe in evolution. The idea that everything came from nothing and that there is no God. It has many faults.
