At the Last Supper, Jesus said, “Take this bread. It is my body.” The he said, “Take this and drink. This is my blood. Do this in memory of me.”
Catholics believe this was the First Eucharist, that through some miracle the bread and wine actually became the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
Catholics reenact the Last Supper during every Mass, where the priest, acting in place of Christ, changes the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
This is a great sacrament of thanksgiving and unity of Catholics.
Anyone who does not believe in the actual presence of Christ and is not united with the Catholic faith is asked, out of respect, not to receive the Eucharist.
Catholics, out of respect for other Christian faiths, do not receive Communion in non-Catholic churches.
We pray that one day Christian unity will succeed and we will all be called to the same table.
With love and prayers in Christ.

NO, Catholics cannot receive Communion at a Lutheran church, and Lutherans cannot receive the Eucharist in a Catholic Church.
The reason is the difference in the belief in what Communion really is.
Catholics believe the Eucharist is really Jesus Christ, Body Blood Soul and Divinity. The bread no longer exists. ( Check out the entire chapter 6 of the Gospel of John) This is called transubstantiation.
Lutherans believe one of two things;
Either 1. communion is only a symbol or 2. that the bread is bread AND Jesus body at the same time. ( consubstantiation)
Since the Eucharist is the central mystery of the Catholic faith, Catholic cannot participate in communion in any church that ios not in full union with Rome.

You are correct sir...
Lutherans do not believe in transubstantiation of the wine and host into the actual blood and body of Christ. Therefore, Catholics should not take Communion with other denominations. Lutherans are not the only Protestant denomination to have communion
This is the same reason Protestants should not take Catholic Communion.

Yes I know. The answer is no not at this time. There are not any Lutheran groups that have "communion" with the Roman Catholic Church.
I wouldn't say that they are in danger of their soul it's just that we have a different understanding of Eucharist.

The Fish on Friday crowd in a Lutheran church? You have to love excommunication to even entertain the thought. Of course the Lutherans would extend the invitation to them as they have done to many other denominations. The most recent to accept the invitation are the mighty Episcapalians tho this writer does remember seeinga few of the fainter hearts running out of the building rather than sing "Onward Christian Soldiers." LOL

No they aren't. Catholics believe that the host and wine become the body and blood of Christ when they are ingested. For this reason, Catholics do not participate in other communions and other religions don't participate in Catholic communion.

Lutherans do communion? Uhm, as far as I understand, Catholics tend to jealously guard their uhh parishoners? followers? sheep? congregations? and wouldn't want to share them.... it's like, their crackers are top sirloin and Lutheran's are mystery meat.... I think you'd have to confess it later. Prepare your rosary!!

Don't see why they couldn't if they thought of it the same way.
I went to a cahtolic church service and took communon without being batized and I'm still alive no bolt of lighting struck me down for being presumuious. turned to paganism and canenter a christian church and read and handle a bible without bursting into flames.
