It's nice to believe in an afterlife, buy nobody really knows what happens after we die. I hope we do though.

Yes, there is an afterlife and a before life, the eternal spirit soul is covered by a temporary material gross body that is constituted of molecules and atomic particles, the gross material body is never the same twice, it is constantly changing and every seven years all the molecules replace themselves, so the body you are in now is different to the one you had seven years before, so there is no question as to the validity of reincarnation, because we are reincarnating at every moment and completely every seven years.

This is the gross covering, secondly there is a subtle covering of mind, intelligence and ego, the mind is also changing due to conditioning, so an individual will behave differently in accordance to the type and age of the gross body.

There is false ego and real ego, false ego means to falsely identify the gross body of molecules and atoms to be yourself, real ego means to accept the spirit soul as your self.

So, you are not a material body that has a soul, you are an eternal soul that has a temporary material body, eternal means that the soul has no beginning and it has no end, the soul has spiritual form, individuality and an eternal personal relationship with the Supreme soul or God.

It is over after we die until God establishes his heavenly Kingdom.

The Bible does not talk of an afterlife, in Ecclesiastes 9:5, it says:

"For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."

It's very clear that the dead are in a state of non-existence, they are not in heaven or hell.

I would like to believe in some kind of afterlife. I don't believe in just heaven or hell though. I'm sure there is a place for the truely evil (Hitler, Stalin and the like), but I also think there's some kind of place for all the decent people in the world, regardless of religious beliefs.

I don't beleive in an afterlife we are cognizant like we are in this life or even aware of a previous life.

If there wasn't some sort of progression beyond this life it seems to be quite a waste. Generations upon generation of life have organized matter and energy just so we can exist today. For the energy that forms our existance to completely dissipate upon on death seems counter productive.

I believe in afterlife, but I don't consider that belief to be the centre of my religion. I follow a carpenter - turned - preacher from the backwaters of the Roman Empire who did not allow death to stop him making a difference in THIS world

I believe it and even if I'm wrong, why take the risk? See, I was told this once, "All of you believe in the dirt after the passing, but if there's more for the soul to journey, will the bet of 'there's not life after death' be that which condemns you to eternal damnation?"<<< Pretty deep. The truth is, people who know where they are going, have nothing to fear because if there is no life after death, they have not risked anything. But....on the other side....

I believe in an "afterlife," or rather a place where the spirits of men and women reside until the final resurrection and judgement.

I believe in reincarnation, that our "souls" (energy) continues on learning more with each life we experience. But I have, however, wished that the second was true before. Sometimes I want off this merry go round!
