Kennel cough is very hard to rid of. it has to just run its course. Call ur vet and see what kind of cough suppressant u can give and how much. (Do not just go buy some without contacting ur vet, some will cause seizures) Kennel cough can last up to 1 month or more depending on the severity and the dog.

It can take a good month to actually shake the cough. If it is serious enough and still coughing alot. Look into Lungworms. Lungworms can produce the same symptoms as Kennel cough. I recently adopted a boxer and she was in a house fire. Came to me with a cough and she did not get better. I got cough suppressant and all. After testing i found that she had Lungworm. After deworming her she is ok now. I did however have to deworm all my other animals also.

Kennel cough is a hard thing to get rid of. could take months and usually antibiotics is not the answer. the vet I work for uses cough tabs. If you are not getting results try another vet

Take him into the vet again, just to be sure it's not something more serious. Kennel cough is pretty serious, so it probably will take him a while to get over it. Make sure to get him a Bordetella vaccination at least 10-14 days before you board him in a kennel from now on to prevent kennel cough.
