Just depends on what you like really. I like to choose a name that doesn't sound like any command that I may give my dog.....so nothing that rhymes with sit, down, stay, come, or no. I also like to choose a name that has a cute diminutive form. My brown standard poo's name is Isebella and we call her Ise. If we keep a girl out of our current litter I'll either go with Frankie or Tempest (and her call name would be Stormy).

I've always liked people names on my animals, but for a chocolate brown dachsund my first thought was Eclair....chocolate Eclair. You could call her Claire, or E. Claire or just E for short. My guy is called little "D" short for Diego. My friends have brown dachsunds named Peanut and Rocky.

How about "Schotzie" (shots-z)...good German name, also another good name for a female would be "Dolly" (as in Dolly Parton) because as they mature their rib cage seems to be more defined in the chest area...sometimes nearly hitting the ground! You made a good choice of breed, they're great dogs and they like to hunt for little critters, also are easily attached to one person.

Well, I think a good name would be Little Coco if it's small and Big Coco if large or if she's fast, then call her Rocket.
