The MTOE also lists vehicles and exuipment on it, as well as personnel. I'm in the Guard, and the MTOE's get updated usually about every year. To change it is usually a 2-star or higher, and that is like trying to make pigs fly. That is a lot of vehicles for a unit though with that many mechanics. I would look for a change soon.

I don't mean to be flippant, but when I served as a platoon leader in the field artillery, the answer was always....as many as needed to get the damn thing fixed, out of red and into green. Sorry just thought an injection of old motor pool humor might help. I can't conceive that only 2 mechanics are anticipated to handle all the vehicles you mention. Also no pll (?) clerk. Might that be the same as a PLO clerk as they were called in my day. My only reference is that we had 7 tracked, 4 deuce and a half, one 5 ton, 3 gamma-goats (don't ask) and 1 jeep. Best as I can recall we had no less than 6 mechanics and additional support personnel. Of course, we were a nuclear capable missile unit assigned to the 48 hour world wide rapid reaction deployment force. That may have made a difference, I never thought to ask.

Well. Bare a couple of things in mind. For openers, that's not a lot of equipment. Now, take into consideration how much of the general maintenace and servicing is actually operater level. Also, there is no reason whatsoever that operaters can't, at the very least, order the PLL products they need. Most the parts, they should be putting on themselves. All you should have to do is pick them up.
As far as your MTOE, units receive those updates annually.

Thank you for your service. Not sure, but that sounds close as to the size/ type of your unit. You probably have one assigned and then have a maintenance company of some sort in support. That he sends the bigger stuff too that he can not handle.
