The Prosonic DVD player is a worldwide multiregion player. In addition to your domestic discs it will play any DVD, from any region, on any TV no matter what is the video format: PAL or NTSC

You can play DVDs in computers and change the DVD region 4-5 times. Or you can use a some of these program that promas unlimited changed. So you could go buy a very cheap DVD playing PC and change the region. But the PC will still probably cost $400-$700 but then you have an other PC too........
Good luck.

I am not a pro at this, but my thinking is a DVD burner would be a good call here, as most of them can burn multiple formats (at least a good one, read: expensive over $200). DVD players have gotten so common and so cheap, that there is no telling what you will get. We currently run two DVD VCR combos since our home videos are on VHS tapes, but will likely upgrade to a daul DVD/ DVD burner next time we are in the market.

There may be a code you can enter into your current DVD players via the remote that will allow multi region playback. Consult your DVD players' user manuals, and/or contact the manufacturer for more information.

I am confused I didn't realize that there were 2 region formats of DVD players. But I will check into that. We have a Symphonic DVD-CD player and we have never had one that didn't play.

There are actually several DVD players that will work for you. You can find them on the internet or even a local reatil store.
Best Buy sells a model made by Cyberhome that retails for around $39.99 that will work also.

Why are you making this so puzzling? Get a Blu-ray participant. in case you go searching you will discover production unit rebuilt units for <$one hundred with each and all of the bells & whistles and play the two DVD & BRD. attempt places like Hastings. it is what I did.
