Are there any drugs that treat twitching?
I use to drink and take x and coke a lot. Now I twitch a little when I walk but not when I run or play basketball which is strange itself. I know that benzos take it away and make me feel normal again from experiance but is there anything else that can help like anti seizure medicine or something that's not addictive?

The drugs that treat Tourette's Syndrome also cover twitches/tics. Good luck!

According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Making muscles exercise on their own (spasms) are one sure way to do this.

Exercise stops the twitches momentarily?

Then, low blood sugar may be the cause.

For relatively long short term relief, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something else for 30 minutes. You may find your twitches have lessened a bit.

Chronic low blood sugar can also be the cause of a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.

an anti-seizure medication like depakote, tegretol, or dilantin may help you stop twitching. benzos can also help (they are prescribed more for anxiety) but are addictive. you may also want to look into something like a muscle relaxant - not a strong relaxant - but a more mellow relaxant, such as flexeril or skelaxin. this may help to soothe and relax your muscles and cause less twitching. this may be an easier thing to try first before going into the seizure medications because seizure meds for the most part have to be monitored closely by a doctor (if y take too much and your levels of these meds gets too high, you become toxic and begin to have alot of dangerous side effects). so you may want to try muscle relaxants first before moving onto bigger meds.

Possibly one of the many drugs approved to treat Parkinson's disease such as...Sinemet, Requip, etc. Best thing to do is go to a doctor and consult them.

Anticonvolusants (anti seizure) meds might help or meds that they give to patients for Parkinson's disease. Talk to your doctor. They should probably have you talk to a neurologist.
