If the devil tries to trick people and get them to go against God how do you know that he did not go back in time and write the bible? What if the bible was written by the devil and not the word of god? What if we are going down the wrong path and god wants us to reject the bible? The devil is always trying to fool us so why not do it this way?

It's possible. If you read it, then Satan is a teacher that promotes the fruit of knowledge, and God kills millions and millions of people in a flood.

Thoughts like this are how he gets you. I would hardly expect God to want us to not be kind to others.
