hello people she said squirting dosnt help u have to take it off put it down go down to its level and say no in a firm voice. make sure it understsnds that u r angry. it will learn eventually. though the fact that it liked your first idea of a punishment may make it confused and it will take awhile but the jumping on the table will stop

Try putting sheets of aluminum foil on the counters and tabletops for a few days. Kitties generally will not like the crinkly sound and the feel of the foil under their feet. I have used the water spray bottle very successfully with my cats. I only have to say spray bottle and the unwanted behavior will stop. There are electrified mats you can purchase through various pet supplies, but I have never used them, and cannot comment on their usefulness or safety. Hope the foil helps. Have a good night!!!

My boyfriend and I have a lot of stuff around our apartment that we don't want getting wet (computers, school papers etc) so we found our cat deterrence method in the Dust-Off can. Our cats hate the noise of the air coming out of the can and they stop whatever naughty thing they are doing immediately and run off. We don't have to be near them at all, just a short blast from the can and they get the message.

put some coins inside a big tin can . when you see kitty on your table give the can a hard shake and the sound will let the cat know you dislike it being there then make it get down . this also works on dogs

2 ways. Use a squirt bottle or squirt gun and when it jumps onto something you don't want it to be on, squirt it. Also, cover the areas i.e., table, couch, with aluminum foil. They jump on it and freak out from the sound and feel of it.

keep an empty soda can filled with pennies by the counter. each time he jumps on the counter, shake the soda can loudly near him. the sound will scare him so much that he will jump down. eventually he will associate jumping on the counter with hearing a nasty, loud noise and he will stop. good luck!

we always filled a soda can with coins, then shake it when they do something bad. the noise scares them. by the way, cats do what they want, she will still do it when your not there. mine's 5 and i can't keep her claws out of my furniture! i've been trying since she was a kitten. she just waits till i'm asleep or gone.

Since water doesn't work, i suggest a rolled up newspaper, or if you have one, use a hat. just tap the kittens butt with it and say down. After a while he'll catch on and stop.
