As stupid as that sounds, it really happens. I've been there too and I will never recommend you to work for free just to gain "experience." Keep looking and network as much as you can. You can also try legit and trusted recruitment agencies and they will try to match you with potential employers or positions. You can't expect a high salary for now, but it's a start. Sooner or later you'll get there.

Congratulations on your accomplishment! You have asked the same question every first time job seeker has asked since people stopped being self sufficient. The only advice I can offer is keep looking! Somewhere there is an employer looking for you. You may have to take a little less money than you wanted, but once you have that all important experience, you can move on to bigger and better things. Good luck!

Employers are interested in things like absenteeism, work quality, good social patterns (plays well with others), and it may be that you don't have a track record. It often works to do some volunteer work for awhile after school to get a track record. You might volunteer at a local hospital for a bit, and when they get to know you they will either hire you, or give you a good reference.

Usually you gain experience in school working at the school Pharmacy or as part of an internship program for credit. Otherwise free internships.

My experience: I wasted four years getting qualified, then another three going to the SAME INTERVIEWS year after year.

In the end I gave up trying and went into clerical work. Doesn't make use of my abilities but at least I can earn a penny sometimes.

If you can afford to wait, I would suggest advertising, I have also heard of some online services. when you advertise learn how to sell your talents, make them know that they will be fortunate to have you. If you sell yourself short you might create the habit of allowing an employer to take advantage of you.
start thinking about what you have accomplished at this point, you have finished a course that everyone cant, get out there and let them know that you are going to choose them, if they are worthy.

Are you sure its the experience factor?? I am a Manager and I LOVE hiring people without experience!! They have no bad habits from other jobs and my company has a clear slate to work with!

go to the school and get some help. do you know which companies are offering jobs? before you got to college, your parents should have been able to help you gain access to a listing of companies that would offer you jobs. i had the same situation in accounting. i had applied to over 200 jobs in 10 years before i was allowed to get on for a good company. the temp agency worked my resume to the hiring manager. he hired me on the spot.

isnt that ironic! Did you do an internship during the degree. I think you would need some connection somewhere to get a job.

Good God, that's awful.

Can your school give you a letter of recommendation? Or, perhaps point you in the right direction?
