Angry atheists...why were you snarling..........?

Angry atheists...( not the sweet and nice ones )...whats ur big deal problem ? I asked a very simple question last night. It was very innocent . I asked you if you would like a prayer be4 I slept. I was being nice and sweet and a tiny bit playful and some very, very, very nasty atheists called me the vilest names, mentally ill, a drug user, etc. Ask yourself why and what makes you so virulent at the simplest things ? If that offended you...THEN WHY ARE YOU IN THE SPIRITUAL SECTION ? We talk about God and Jesus here...HELLOOOOO ???? Why not spare yourself some brain cells and cool your jets ? Smoke a freaking peace pipe or something ? ( not pot....) My goodness...get upset about something serious would you ?????? I didnt twist your little hairy arms and make you read my question did I ??? If I anger you...why dont you just vine swing right on past my question ? hmmmmm ?

A.) Isn't a peace pipe weed? Cannibus? That's why some of the native americans down in... one of the southern states... said they should be allowed to smoke it (religious purposes)
B.) So... was I one of the nice people, or one of the snarling people?
C.) I think I explained the answer last night. It might have been in another question though. People don't like the implication that you think that they need you to pray for them. To them, it's you saying you're somehow superior and saving them. People's ego and pride doesn't allow for that. But, ol' Catholicism says pride is one of the seven deadly sins (The worst amongst them, at least until cities came along), so Christianity probably thinks that Athiests getting angry is just a sign of their evil horrible sinful sinful ways!

Welp, I remain agnostic.

Also, the religion and spirtuality section includes the discussion of god, including the lack thereof. Athiesm is a religion, technically speaking.

Is this the "Christianity" section or the "Religion & Spirituality" section?

Anything involving religion can be discussed here, not JUST what you believe. A Jewish person can post here, as well as a Muslim, Buddhist, Confucianist, AND an atheist or agnostic. This place is for people who want to discuss religion, not solely people who are pro-religion. People are perfectly allowed to come in here and express their hatred of religion, if that's how they feel. You don't have to be pro-religion to discuss it.

Also, at first glance at your profile, most of your questions start out with "Atheists, how do you feel about..." or "Atheists, what about..." If you dislike the attention that atheists give you, why do you keep directing every single question you post towards them? Don't you think that might factor in there just a little bit?

You sure sound nice. Really following Christ's example there by not judging and loving your neighbors and such. Why so hypocritical? Insecure are we?

The religion and spirituality is here for all to discuss the impact religion and spirituality have on our lives. Not all of us believe what you do, but I agree, you should not be insulted for having warped and ignorant views. It isn't your fault, I know.

I hope that you may eventually find the truth, but until then, why not ask questions on different boards? You may find that people are less offended by your views on watermelon and hair care than your views on god.

Mmm yeah I guess I'm one of the sweet ones, because I do generally just "vine swing" right past questions of that nature, and don't feel it's doing anyone any good to put in one's two cents when it's neither asked for nor needed. But, I do not have hairy arms =)

If you can't understand why Atheists have a right to, and a lot to contribute to, a section on religion, then perhaps you need to learn a little bit about religion to begin with, and, well... grow up.

I'm not mad at you, but can I come for the shake anyway? I like ice cream! And I like prayers! You send as many prayers my direction as you like, it won't bother me one bit, and I'll send some your way. We can start a circle of prayer! Woot! That sounds great! I don't think people realize that when you offer to pray for them it's not because you think you are better than them but because you care for them. I imagine us Christians have caused that misunderstanding. I wonder what we can do to remedy it and continue to pray for people? I guess we could pray secretly for people. Would that work?

The fact that you are dwelling on this leads me to think that you need help. You need to cool your jets! Sadly once again, religion is the reason for confrontation.
