It wasn't until I was of the age of understanding that I made my decision for Christ, but the first time I remember God revealed Himself to me I was five years old. I had plans with my little friend Paula to play in the afternoon together outside. The morning hadn't been a very good day in my little life and I was excited to play with my friend. Well, I have always been an emotional person and I was a pretty emotional kid as well, so the afternoon turned sour when it started pouring rain. I had been feeling down that day anyway, so it didn't help when the storm clouds rolled in. I was crying and my mom asked me why I was so sad and I said, "I just need to see a rainbow..." Anyway, prayer was pretty common place in our home, so my mom asked if I wanted to pray to Jesus for a rainbow. I said yes, and I remember her praying to God, telling Him that I was just having a sad day and would really like to see a rainbow. I think she meant more something 'rainbow-like' to make me smile, or something good to happen to me that day. Well, I layed down for a nap and I remember her barging in my room and saying I needed to wake up right away and see something. She dragged me right over to the front door and we stepped outside. Right IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE was the most beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky. The most vibrant colors I've ever seen in my life, and we lived right in the middle of the city!! My mother still cries if we talk about my rainbow. It just blows my mind that the creator of the universe cared about a little girl's prayer that afternoon. Since that day I've had many 'rainbows' in my life, where the Lord has let me know how much He cares. As adults, it is so hard to believe sometimes. I know in the Bible that it says when you pray about something, and have the faith of a child, if it is in God's will, He promises to do for us what we ask if it is in His name. I hope this story has blessed you.

I opened my eyes and looked up into the sky at night. The stars, the universe and my own intellect told me that there was a master craftsman at work, and men and women with more years on this earth than myself spoke of all of this being the work of God. I believed them then and I believe them now.

I have always believed in God. He lives in me and there is nothing that can make me not believe in Him.

Why are those who already believe the ones who answer this? Are they so desperate to show their faith rather than just live it?

For me to believe in which god? Yours? Whose? There are places where different faiths are practiced.

For me to believe in any of them, one of them would have to bring all people together without the hate and anger and without judgment or restriction or condition. No one being told they would go to hell for not following, everyone just being allowed to live in peace irregardless of their race or heritage or language.

Without restriction or requirement - just a god who says "don't hurt anyone through action or lack of action" and "allow others to live in peace as long as they allow the same" and "give aid to those who need it and won't waste it"".

No "follow me or go to hell" scare tactics. No "our lord is the only lord" and no "spread the word without concern for respect for those who ask not to have it shoved in their faces". A god who only wants the best and isn't a selfish jealous one who allows his followers to show so much hatred and anger towards those who do not believe as they do.

THAT god would have me.

I have always believed in Him. It was just that I HATED Him. I hated everything about His rules and His sense of right and wrong and what I thought was His believe or fry conditions.

Then one day, I heard the truth. Spoken in love and insight. I was totally convicted and ashamed for being so stupid.

That was 26 years ago today, and it remains the happiest day of my life.

Nothing Really. I just understand better now exactly what God is for me. Not necessarily what God is for everyone.

That means I am not going arround trying to convert everyone to my point of view. Just that I have one.

A lot of things, including the fact that it is obvious within myself that He exists, it is obvious through His creation that He exists, it is obvious through His word(the Bible) that He exists, and modern science proves that God exists, and without a God there would be no purpose for life.

i was born into a christain home so i always knew that there was a God but lacked personal revelation. i lacked personal conviction and was easily swayed by different beliefs. there reader just stop for 1sec say a gentle prayer to God and listen to your heart. trust me on this one, he'll reply. he loves you and longs to hear from you. just try this afterall you have nothing to loose other than doubt. remain blessed and remember God loves you and is waiting to hear from you.

all of the evidence........did you know that if the world was 1 degree closer to the sun we would burn to death and 1 degree the other way and we would freeze to death..........There is a better chance that a tornado can rip through a junk yard and make an f-16, than the world and all of its inhabitants made by chance....

Fear made me believe, when it was shoved on me at a young age, when they told me I'd go to hell if I didn't accept Jesus, before I knew better.

Growing up and seeing with my own eyes made me stop believing.
