A 'God' that has favorites is no true God. Only a mythological God would have favorites so you have every right (as much right as anyone else who created mans 'sacred' text) to create a mythological God that loves atheists.
I actually like the idea; A God so tired of being called down on both sides of every religious war he decides to grant favors only to atheists.

It's true. God only wants those who think for themselves - those who will examine the evidence and form their own positions regardless of what the vast majority says. He wants diamonds in the rough who he can have fun arguing with all eternity, not mindless faith zombies who worship him.
He hates faith, which is why he made a rational universe instead of a magic one.

Atheists are just as much God's children as Jewsand Pagans are. The Jews were chosen by God to bring salvation to the world, which He did in the person of Jesus Christ. God loves ALL of us equally, regardless of which religion we choose, even atheism.

If god exists, then he has already shown that he hates people that turn on him. I think no god would need to do such a thing, but the Jews and Christians believe that god kills those that don't believe in him. A trait that I find totally ungodly, but they seemed to believe.

Think about it If i am wrong and there is no God and I die believing it I wont lose a thing, but if i dont believe in God and at the end of my life there is a God then I will perish in Hell

I don't know if atheists are God's favorite children, but I do know this. Jesus told a story about a shepard who would leave his 99 sheep in order to find the one lost sheep. Sounds like a preference to me! And I love Him for it.

well i guess then that as to not offend the nasty atheists then we should do away with the 5th amendment...wouldnt want to infringe now would we ? ..ESPECIALLY IN THE RELIGIOUS SECTION ............WHY DONT WE JUST GO AHEAD AND ABOLISH RELIGION SO THEIR LITTLE POINTY HEADS WONT GET UPSET.....? Then, gosh, we could eradicate them....ummmmmmm...then we could insist God elect a board of regents...so they could run for His position..why not ? They act like they are Him anyway ?
