It is about 5 miles and in my opinion only NO it is a Navy base town and kinda dirty

Myself I love Virginia Beach over Norfolk. I live in portsmouth which is 25 min's from va Beach. I love the scene in va beach, always something to do and it's fun. But u be the judge

Norfolk is about 15-20 minutes from the oceanfront. There are areas within Norfolk that are being re-developed and are rather nice. The Ghent area and granby street are the most noteworthy.

i lived in norfolk. va beach is only 20 min from norfolk.
norfolk is an exellent place to live. i loved it.
