He's always arguing that the Government is using HIS tax dollars to fund "liars" (teachers who teach what they are supposed to, evolution).

Does anyone else see the multi-faceted irony of this?

Unfortunately, yes ... I have heard of Kent Hovind ... he is Dr. Dufus.

I'm also aware he's had some issues with the government regarding his tax payments. Tsk tsk.

What's interesting about the creation/evolution in school debate ... the famous "Scopes Monkey Trial" (1925) resulted in a guilty verdict, upholding the Butler Act that made it illegal to teach any theory that denies the story of creation as told in the Bible.

In 1927, thirteen states (both from the North and South) had considered some form of anti-evolution law.

The situation in the U.S. didn't begin to change significantly until after WWII and the advent of the Cold War with the U.S.S.R. The Soviets were making what appeared to be significant progress and advances in science and technology ... it was then the U.S. began to turn away from the teaching of creation and instead focus on evolution and the fundamentals of science, so as to keep pace with the Soviets technologically.

What tax dollars of his?

Kent Hovind has been convicted of tax evasion in the past and there are a number charges still pending.

Oh, he also says that he has a Ph.D., which as it turns out is from a degree mill where if you send in cash, they send you a diploma without you ever taking a single class.

The man is a known con artist, yet fundamentalists just eat up whatever he serves.

can you say "sheep"? baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Irony is not a city in Africa and Kent Hovind is a scientist.

If someone is teaching something as truth when it isn't , what would you call that person then? I don't agree with everything brother Hovind says, but he is right about most of what he states.
